Cambridge Cottage
The entrance to Cambridge Cottage on Kew Green is the dark green door under the white archway. It's almost opposite St Anne's Church on Kew Green. If you take advantage of our guest access to Kew Gardens before you join us, we recommend you use google maps to navigate your way through the gardens to Cambridge Cottage, as you will be approaching the cottage from the other side! Please bring suitable footwear!
Driving?
The Gardens have very kindly allowed us to use a few of their parking spaces on the other side of Kew Green. If you want to use one of them please just let us know when you RSVP. Otherwise there is free public parking (if you can find it!) right outside and all along Kew Green.
The car park for those who need it is located between Ferry Lane and the Elizabeth Gate. The postcode is TW9 3AE.
Bus, Tube and Train?
There are several Gates into Kew Gardens, Cambridge Cottage is a just a three minute walk from the Elizabeth Gate and about 10mins from the Victoria Gate. According to the Gardens website, the number 65 bus stops at the Victoria Gate. If that is useful information to you, we'd be surprised!
The nearest underground station is "Kew Gardens" on the District Line. Cambridge Cottage is around a 12 minute walk from the station. We recommend you head towards the Victoria Gate first and then you can walk through gardens to Cambridge Cottage. Kew Bridge mainline station is a little further away, trains come regularly from Clapham Junction and Waterloo.
For short journeys, for example from Kew Bridge Station, Uber will often be the cheapest and easiest way to take a taxi. It's free to download, you just pay for the journeys you take. For longer journeys minicabs might be cheaper.
Flying?
From Heathrow, public transport will take little more than an hour if you take the Piccadilly Line to South Ealing then the very useful number 65 bus (or an Uber). An Uber from Heathrow will likely cost you £30 to £40.
If you're coming from Gatwick then a booked mini cab will be the cheapest taxi, but there is an excellent train service to London Victoria (and a slightly slower one to London Bridge). From Victoria simply take the District line to Kew Gardens tube station. An Uber from Gatwick to Cambridge Cottage will cost £60 to £80 - a minicab should be a little cheaper. Overall, a taxi may be cheaper than public transport for large groups travelling together from Gatwick.
We've told a few local hotel's and BnB's that people will be coming.
